Who
are we?
Drayton Valley Community Learning Centre of Drayton Valley, Alberta is one of 83 Adult Learning Councils funded, in part, by Alberta Advanced Education
and Technology.
D.V. Community Learning works in partnership with community agencies to provide learning services as dictated by community needs.
A volunteer board contracts an Executive Director to administer
the various projects.

Where are we?
Our office is located in the Pembina Educational
Consortium building at 5056-50 Avenue, Drayton Valley, AB.

What are we?
The Community Learning Center's mandate is to serve adult learners in our
community. Planning the community course offerings is on-going.
Course Guidelines: learning is fun, and affordable, based on
community resources wherever possible.
Twice annually, usually in January and August, D.V.
Community Learning
coordinates and publishes an extensive Course
Guide. Included, is a course listing of more than 50 learning
activities as well as information from the area agencies, businesses, clubs
and organizations who provide learning opportunities from
academic to technical to recreational and health.
D.V. Community Learning does plan general interest courses in addition to
four
specific areas required by Alberta Advanced Education and Technology:
1. community issues which is a broad category and may include
wellness, parenting, and/or volunteer support.
2. employability enhancement: computer training, professional and
personal development
3. English or French as a Second Language
4. Adult Literacy
General interest courses may include
sports, the arts, home skills, small business, travel, or crafts.
