What are we?
The Community Learning Centre's mandate is to serve adult learners in our community. Planning the community course offerings is on-going. Course Guidelines: learning is fun, and affordable, based on community resources wherever possible.
Twice annually, usually in January and August, D.V. Community Learning coordinates and publishes an extensive Course Guide. Included, is a course listing of more than 50 learning activities as well as information from the area agencies, businesses, clubs and organizations who provide learning opportunities from academic to technical to recreational and health.
D.V. Community Learning does plan general interest courses in addition to four specific areas required by Alberta Advanced Education and Technology:
- Community issues, which is a broad category and may include wellness, parenting, and/or volunteer support
- Employability enhancement; computer training, professional and personal development
- English or French as a Second Language
- Adult Literacy
General interest courses may include sports, the arts, home skills, small business, travel or crafts.
