Airbrushing 101
An Introduction to the Airbrush
The concept of spraying paint at a substrate using air is as old as mankind. In the beginning, cavemen used to hold their hands against the cave walls and spray dyes made from berries with their mouths, leaving a silhouette of their hands behind. Fortunately, we have a more sophisticated way of doing this. We've got the airbrush. It might sound outlandish, but the concept is really quite similar.
The airbrush is somewhat of a controversial art tool. Many 'artsy' types look at it as a cheat tool; a shortcut. Others feel this medium
is somehow exhaulted from the rest. There's a kind of mystique surrounding airbrush and, for the most part, it can be difficult to find information about.
Not anymore...
Airbrush artist Trevor Furoy is offering 'Airbrushing 101' for anyone who has ever been curious about this art tool, and the potential that it offers. Spend an evening with Trevor as he walks you through the common features of the airbrush. You will hear stories from his career as an airbrush artist that spans the globe, and you will see live demonstrations of his airbrush handy-work.
You'll be amazed, astounded....INSPIRED

Garden Spirits Workshop
Garden spirits are lovely statues made with T-shirt material and a special stiffening liquid called Garden Spirits Medium (GSM). All pieces start with a wire armature, fleshed out with tinfoil, wrapped with GSM t-shirt strips and then draped with materials for clothing. No experience necessary! The finished statues can be weather proof after a couple of days of curing, making them suitable to put outside, even in our Alberta winters!
This day of class will give you the opportunity to make your own statue, full size around 18” high. Please bring a 100% cotton t-shirt, scissors and tinfoil. Dress in old clothes, bring an ice cream bucket, old face cloth and hand towel (to keep your hands clean).
